CXO Summit 2018 in Review

Here’s a look at our agenda:

Opening Keynote: State of the Healthcare Union with Dr. Vanila Singh, Chief Medical Officer for HHS and Acting Regional Health Administrator Region 9 (California, Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii, 6 Pacific Islands)

We're pleased to announce our opening keynote "State of the Healthcare Union" will be Dr. Vanila Singh, the Chief Medical Officer for HHS. The U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services is a cabinet-level department of the U.S. federal government with the goal of protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential human services. Dr. Singh will provide an overview of both federal and regional health priorities given her dual federal and local roles. Today's healthcare leaders need to become leaders of leaders who can build and lead teams that deeply understand, synthesize, and can leverage health policy, economics, technology, medical practice, and translate how all of these elements tie to operations and finance which benefit all stakeholders. We're pleased to offer a number of examples for what leaders of leaders look like at this year's CxO Summit for the benefit of our members' professional development including senior IT and hospital executives in this "State of the Healthcare Union" talk with Dr. Singh.

Closing Keynote: Keys to Managing Disruption by Jonathan Manis

Digital technology, artificial intelligence and ubiquitous, mobile connectivity are transforming our world and everything in it. Connected devices will track and trend our habits.  Connected medical instruments will monitor compliance to therapies and medication efficacy, and powerful artificial intelligence engines will scour our personal data to predict disease and most-effective treatment options. Drones will deliver pizzas, packages and pill-refills. Today’s consumer expects, and increasingly demands, immediate access to services – when, where and how it is most convenient for them and their mobile, connected lifestyle.  Despite these changes, the healthcare industry has yet to embrace the digital transformation.

Jonathan Manis, former Sr. VP and CIO of Sutter Health, will share an environmental overview, the emerging role of the CIO in a digital world, and the personal characteristics and professional competencies required to successfully lead the digital transformation of healthcare.
