Were you unable to attend the HIMSS19 Interoperability & HIE Breakfast Panel? Did you attend and want to hear more about the topic? Join us for Part 2 of this session to take a deeper dive into this topic and continue the discussion with our panel of experts from across the interoperability ecosystem.

Description

In today's evolving healthcare industry, disruption is a constant force. New technologies, players, payment models and processes continue to emerge, and interoperability is the foundational constant to the success of all of these. This panel will examine how these disruptive forces place new demands on interoperability and the current ecosystem, especially as we shift from data blocking to data liquidity, and from data liquidity to data portability. Furthermore, the panelists will explore how these emerging efforts compare to and align with previous efforts to address interoperability, and address additional challenges, opportunities and skills necessary for the next wave of disruption.

Learning Objectives

After this session, attendees should be able to:

  • Define the disruptors that are influencing the current interoperability ecosystem.
  • Explore how disruptive solutions impact the care team, patients and other key stakeholders in the data landscape to enhance the end-user experience.
  • Examine how the interoperability continuum is evolving and the resulting implications on the current state of interoperability.
  • Identify the new clinical, non-clinical, business needs and operational considerations driving data sharing and the expansion of interoperability, including new sources and types of data.
