DVHIMSS will hold its 2019 Annual Summer Networking at a Phillies game on Wednesday, June 26th, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. EST.

With this year’s headline news of the signing of Bryce Harper to the Phillies, you won’t want to miss an exciting evening of networking and baseball.

The evening will consist of a keynote speaker and networking opportunities, while enjoying an All-American picnic style food, immediately followed by the Phillies taking on the Mets.

"Communication in Medicine: A Multi-Disciplinary Approach to Difficult Problems"

Orthopedic oncology is a rare specialty, dealing with cancer related problems of the connective tissues. The category of cancers affecting the extremities is known as sarcoma. These rare cancers can be extremely difficult to treat and often require the expertise of many different specialists. Dr. Abraham will discuss the multi-disciplinary team approach that he has instituted in building and growing the Sarcoma programs at both Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Fox Chase Cancer Center. This approach recognizes the fundamental importance of communication in successfully dealing with difficult problems medicine. Case examples will highlight how, when working together as a team, a team of doctors can function as one to achieve the best outcome for the patient, and identify potential avenues where technology and health information specialists can contribute to these improves outcomes.
