Presentation Title: Data in International Research: Lessons from Design, Implementation, & Scaling in Low & Middle Income Countries
Over the past 18 years, Dr. Semrau has been implementing large research trials and public health programs in low and middle income countries. In the course of her career, she has seen the intricacies of moving from paper to electronic data capture; managing expectations of technology, and addressing the field realities of conducting research internationally. In this talk, she will share lessons learned from her work in Zambia and India from data collection, analysis, and reporting back to governments and the community. Participants will have a deeper understanding of international health and research data methods as well as ideas about facilitators, barriers, and solutions to data collection, study design and scalability.
