Wearables, Ingestibles, and Implantables

What is Possible?

Ingredients for Success

The medical possibilities for intelligent, internet-enabled medical devices is vast.  To date, the wearables market (think Fitbit, Apple Watch and so forth) has made the most of the early running. But the scientific value for ingestibles and implantables represents a different level of magnitude.

Imagine receiving a text message notifying you that your grandmother forgot to take her pill this morning. The technology is within our reach. Ingestion monitoring systems have been approved and tested extensively.

Imagine a diabetic patient having a device fitting inside their body that measures their sugar levels and automatically releases insulin when it is needed.

Inception Health, a company formed by the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin health network to accelerate the adoption of digital health, works with technology-focused individuals and companies to turn their ideas into products that can be used at Froedtert and other healthcare providers.

Join Milwaukee School of Engineering and Wisconsin Dairyland chapter of HIMSS at this FREE event to hear an incomplete overview of what is possible today, an outline of the ingredients that are key to a successful product, and a few case examples to watch.
