Advocacy and Community Outreach: Follow-up from the HIMSS NCA Chapter Meeting Blum Report held on 18 October

Ms. Deniz Soyer, Project Manager for Health Information Exchange and Technology, DC Department of Finance, provided an overview of the recently approved District of Columbia State Medicaid Health IT Plan (2018-2023). Many of the attendees requested that they receive the briefing. The presentation is attached. Ms. Soyer emphasized reading page 6, the Roadmap for Health IT and HIE Initiatives through FY21.

We will be scheduling a one hour webinar hosted by DC Director of Health Care Reform and Innovation Administration, Dr. Erin Holve, within the next month. We were fortunate to have her initially introduce us to this plan at our HIMSS NCA Chapter meeting in September. The plan is now final. The upcoming webinar will also include the NCA HIE Liaison, Ms.Evelyn Gallego, as we intend to reach as broad an audience as possible to create awareness of what is happening in the District of Columbia. You can review the final District State Medicaid Health IT Plan, on the website: https://dhcf.dc.gov/sites/default/files/u23/2018%20SMHP%20Public%20Comment%20Draft.pdf.
