Call To Action

2017 Annual Standards Report
The 2017 version of the Annual Standards Report is now available on the Chapter Leader Resource Area. New this year, HIMSS is working to automate the process through an online tool (more on this coming soon!). As always, the Annual Standards Report deadline is July 31. Please include the entire board in the process of completing the report. Angie and Jordan are always happy to answer questions.

To ensure completing the Annual Standards Report is a smooth process for your chapter, we will be hosting an informational webinar on Wednesday, June 7 at 2pm CT. A calendar invitation will be sent to all chapter leaders soon!

FY18 Chapter Elections
HIMSS hopes the chapter boards has already begun the FY18 Chapter Election process, but for those who have not, it's never too late to have a well-thought out plan. HIMSS wants to set chapters up for success and offers several tools and templates to ensure a smooth election process. Please review the material on the CLRA and remember all chapters must adhere to the HIMSS fiscal year (July 1 – June 30), including election cycles.

As chapters groom new volunteers to hold leadership roles, it is important that chapter leaders are familiar with HIMSS policies and procedures

Make sure to invite incoming chapter leaders to the HIMSS Chapters New Leadership Training - Spring 2017 Edition on June 21 at 2pm CT. Please contact Angie or Jordan for more information at chapters@himss.org.

Chapter Leader Blog at HIMSS.org
Share chapters' success and reach a greater audience by authoring a blog at HIMSS.org. Discuss experiences in the health IT industry, what inspires leaders to volunteer, or write about ways the local chapter is influencing health IT transformation.

Posts are typically about 300-500 words in length and deadlines vary. Authors can submit a headshot to use with the post. Send chapter blog posts or ideas to Jordan Blinn.

Important Notes

2017 Chapter Leader Exchange
Join HIMSS for the 2017 Chapter Leader Exchange (CLE) in Cleveland on July 25 and 26.  Registration is now open for the one HIMSS-Sponsored chapter representative. HIMSS encourages all chapters to send at least one representative and budget accordingly for additional chapter attendees. Stay tuned for registration to open in June for all attendees and the agenda will be posted at the Chapter Leader Resource Area.

New this year, chapter advocates are invited to attend CLE for the 2-day training with special sessions focused on advocacy. Chapter advocates interested in attending should reach out to Valerie Rogers.
