Hello chapter members,

As we close out 2016, the Austin HIMSS chapter is pleased to offer two events that we hope you find entertaining and informative.  First, is our holiday social will be Thursday, December 8th from 5:30 - 8pm at Athenaheath in the Sealholm Power Plant downtown.  Last year's event was very well attended.  This year we need to cap the attendance at 100.  Prior registration is required per facility policy.   Appetizers and drinks will be provided. The last event of the year will be our annual CIO panel at the UT Thompson Conference Center on Tuesday, December 13th from 11:30 - 1pm.  Our panelists are:

• Mike Minks, CIO Seton Healthcare Family
• Mike Blom, CIO St. David's Healthcare
• John Mason, CIO Hill Country Memorial
• Rick Peters, MD CIO Dell Medical School

This event has always been the highlight of the year.  It offers an interesting vantage point of healthcare IT in Austin.  Past CIO panel events have provided insight into where we are as an industry, where we came from, where we're headed, and to some degree - how to get there.  Please Click Here to RSVP

I hope to see you at these events.  Our chapter membership has grown from 484 members this time last year to 618 today.   Please feel free to stop me and say hello.  I always enjoy meeting new members and making introductions to other chapter members with common interests.  Our other Board members are happy to meet new members as well.
