Pete Shelkin has over 25 years of IT leadership experience as a CIO, CTO, and consultant to health systems, health plans, and academic research centers. In these roles, Pete has been responsible for defining and executing IT vision and strategy activities to support organizational requirements, needs, and wants.

In his role as a Managing Consultant for Encore, A Quintiles Company, Pete provides strategic advisory services for health systems around the US. Using his deep industry insights and extensive experience, Pete works closely with healthcare executives to develop strategies that minimize the cost and complexity of their application portfolios, while maximizing value and efficiency.

In addition to working in consulting roles, Pete has served as VP & Chief Technology Officer for Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM, Deputy CIO and Chief Technology Officer at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, OH, Director of Information Technology for Swedish Health Services in Seattle, WA, and Director of Information Systems for First Choice Health Network, also located in Seattle, WA. He also served as an instructor for the School of Allied Medical Professionals at the Ohio State University and as a guest lecturer for the School of Public Administration at the University of New Mexico. He is also the Past Vice Chair for HIMSS North America.
