ONC and CDC Collaborate on Public Health Infrastructure

The ONC and CDC are collaborating on a number of projects to advance public health IT infrastructure and improve standardization of public health data exchange. The organizations are reviewing a report of 22 recommendations from the HITECH Public Health Data Systems Task Force and considering how TEFCA could support these objectives. Read more here.

Sequoia Project, TEFCA, and QHINS – Updates and Public Comment

The Sequoia Project (the Recognized Coordinating Entity (RCE) contracted with the ONC for Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA)) has released elements of the Common Agreement for stakeholder feedback, and will host a webinar series to discuss key issues and considerations. For materials and comment opportunities on the Qualified Health Information Network Technical Framework (QTF) and on QHINs, which are being finalized for 2022 implementation, follow this link. The next session will be held on September 29^th, 2021.

ISA, SVAP, USCDA – Open for Public Comment

ONC has opened a feedback period for the Interoperability Standards Advisory (ISA), the Standards Version Advancement Process (SVAP), and the draft United States Core Data for Interoperability Version 3 (USCDI v3).  Submission period ends on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 11:59pm ET.

HIMSS Government Relations has been working with a group of expert volunteers to submit comments on SVAP, ISA and USCDI V3. It is also working with a group of volunteers on TEFCA and QHIN comments.
