• HIMSS SoCal was well represented at the AIMed North America conference in Dana Point, CA, and made great connections with this innovative community. HIMSS SoCal Chapter President, Bella Zaghi, presented and spoke on a panel on HIMSS/SoCal HIMSS’ work and partnership in the growth of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine.  
• We hosted over 30 Health IT executives for socializing and holiday relaxing at the December Holiday Social Mixer in Hermosa Beach.

Bill talks about the idea of forecasting a digital hurricane that pulls towards the center with a lasting effect and where technology sits in this storm as well as the ability to determine fads from beneficial disrupters and why a strategic roadmap should dynamic and an 18-month horizon as a moving target.

Volunteer Spotlight

Dr. Shaun Miller

Shaun completed his MD/MBA at UC Irvine in 2006 and joined Cedars-Sinai as a medical resident in 2007. He is board certified in Internal Medicine as well as subspecialty certified in Clinical Informatics, and has been working as an attending hospitalist with the ISP hospitalist group since 2010. He was an early electronic health record (EHR) champion and has played an integral role in the multi-year implementation of the enterprise EHR at Cedars-Sinai. In 2013, he transitioned into the role of Medical Director of Inpatient Clinical Technology, and continued to play an important role in leveraging the EHR and other clinical technologies to support quality improvement and population health initiatives in the hospital. In 2016, he was appointed the Associate Chief Medical Information Officer. In this role, he maintains a close partnership with the CMIO to advocate innovative technologies in support of safety, quality and effective patient care throughout the health system. His leadership role in the organization also includes serving as chair of the Clinical Content Architecture Group (CCAG) and is co-chair of the medical staff leadership development (MSLD) program. Shaun has also been elected to serve on the Medical Executive Committee for the Cedars-Sinai Medical Staff, and currently serves as Treasurer.
