July 2015 Austin HIMSS Newsletter
Message from the Chapter President > >
As the newly elected President of the Austin HIMSS Chapter Board of Directors, I am both humbled and excited to have the opportunity to work with dedicated professionals in health IT. Over the course of the next year, the Austin HIMSS Board Members and I will be focused on the urgency to get up, get out and get going -- to improve healthcare. We can either watch from the sidelines or be involved in the evolutionary changes in healthcare. My team and I choose to be part of a solution and desire to make a significant contribution by impacting our healthcare system in a positive way. I look forward to exchanging ideas with Austin HIMSS members and I encourage members to actively participate in our Chapter. Because together we can make a difference!

Each year we get the opportunity to thank those who served as our chapter's volunteer board of directors and welcome new members for the current year. Board members are responsible for the day to day operations as well as the strategic planning of the chapter. Each member has been a member of the Austin Chapter for at least one year and has been voted on to the board. We would like to extend a special thank you to Anne Foley (Membership Chair) and James A. Cooley (Program Chair) for their service and exceptional contribution during the 2014-2015 year. They will be missed, but we look forward to working with them in the future.
