They will provide you with up to date insight regarding:
1) Healthcare Breaches- This presentation describes locations in hospitals where data are breached, including the types of breaches that occur most often at hospitals, and hospital characteristics including HIT sophistication and biometric security capabilities.
2) Population Health- This presentation evaluates how hospitals define population health and how their characteristics and environmental factors can impact their commitment in this area.
3) Advanced Use EHR - This presentation describes the trends and predicting factors of EHR quality improvement functions among non-federal acute care hospitals in the United States.
Speakers
Kendall Cortelyou-Ward, PhD
Dr. Cortelyou-Ward is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Management and Informatics at the University of Central Florida.
She also serves as the Program Director for the Master of Science in Health Care Informatics Program.
Her research interests include patient engagement using health information technology, population health, and healthcare privacy and security.
Dr. Danielle Atkins
Dr. Atkins is an assistant professor in the Department of Health Management and Informatics at the University of Central Florida.
She studies the effect of health policies on a variety of outcomes related to substance use, maternal and child health, and risky behaviors.
Atkins earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville and her MPA and PhD from the Department of Public Administration at the University of Georgia.
Meghan Hufstader Gabriel, Ph.D.
Dr. Gabriel is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Health Management and Informatics at the University of Central Florida.
She was previously at the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology as an economist.
Gabriel's main research focus is the value of health information technology.
Gabriel earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and her Ph.D. from the Division of Health Outcomes and Policy Research, at The University of Tennessee, College of Pharmacy.
